How to choose a MU Online private server

Three things decide whether you'll love a server or quit by Sunday: the exp rate, the season and the opening date. Match them to how you actually play.

Exp rates explained — from x1 to x99999

• Low rate (x1 – x50): the real old-school grind. Weeks to max level, every jewel drop matters, trades stay valuable. For players who want progress that feels earned.
• Mid rate (x100 – x1000): the sweet spot. You hit endgame in days, but resets, item hunts and events still mean something.
• High rate (x5000 – x99999): instant action. Max level tonight, endless resets, Castle Siege and PK wars from day one.

Which season should you pick?

MU Online has 20+ seasons of history, and private servers cover all of them:

• 97d / 99i and Seasons 1–4: pure nostalgia — five classes, Lorencia to Icarus, simple items. Small servers, loyal players.
• Season 6: the fan-favorite version and the biggest server selection by far. Rage Fighter, socket items and balanced PvP — the last "classic" season before the power creep. Coming back after years away? Start here.
• Seasons 9–16: the middle ground — new maps, pentagrams, higher wing tiers, still recognizably MU.

A grand opening means everyone starts at level 1: empty market, fair castle, no maxed-out veterans camping the spots.
